Newey Ltd is celebrating success at the inaugural M&S Floral and Gifting Partner Conference, with awards recognising both Senior Account Manager Carl Presgrave and the company's successful partnership with Dutch hydrangea grower Sjaak van Schie.
Held at the Marks & Spencer headquarters on 30 July 2026, the conference brought together growers, packers, brand partners, component suppliers and packaging specialists from across the Floral and Gifting supply chain. The event recognised the businesses and individuals helping to drive quality, innovation and exceptional customer experiences across the category.
Leading Newey's success was an Outstanding Individual Award in the Planted category for Carl Presgrave, Senior Account Manager at Newey Ltd. The award recognised Carl's customer-first approach and commitment to going above and beyond to support both the M&S team and the customer experience.
Newey's long-standing partnership with leading Dutch grower Sjaak van Schie was also recognised with the Outstanding Partner Award in the Planted category. The award celebrated the success of the partnership's hydrangea programme for M&S, recognising the delivery of exceptional product quality, innovative breeding and the development of exclusive varieties for the retailer. The award was collected on behalf of Sjaak van Schie by Mike Norris, greosn group Commercial Director.
Working closely with HiBreeding Genetics, Newey and Sjaak van Schie have developed a portfolio of premium hydrangea varieties selected for their exceptional quality, uniformity, presentation and shelf life. The recognition reflects the strength of this collaborative approach and the shared commitment to bringing innovative products to market.
Most recently, the partnership celebrated the launch of a UK-exclusive hydrangea variety for M&S in June 2026. Developed in collaboration with Newey, HiBreeding Genetics, Sjaak van Schie and M&S, the first-to-market variety features distinctive curled petals, offering customers something truly unique within the Floral and Gifting category.
