On March 24 2026, Newey Director Jonathan Marquis attended the Plants in Parliament Spring Reception, hosted by Ben Goldsborough MP on behalf of the HTA, at the House of Commons.

The HTA are the leading trade association representing and supporting around 1,400 businesses across the UK environmental horticulture supply chain. Members include garden centre retailers, growers, manufacturers, landscapers, garden designers, and service providers.

Fran Barnes (HTA CEO), Mary Creagh CBE (Minister for Nature), MPs and Peers met HTA members and heard short speeches and discussions on planning, trade and borders, peat transition, water resilience, business costs, and the sector’s economic and wellbeing benefits. The event highlighted the value of environmental horticulture, its challenges, and opportunities to grow UK green jobs and investment.

Together, we’re building support for greener policy and a stronger UK horticulture sector.
