Stuart Whiteman of greosn group company, Newey Ltd., received the Pot Plant Growers Award from the British Ornamentals Association (BOA) at the association’s pre‑conference dinner last night, at the Woodland Grange Hotel. The dinner preceded the BOA Technical Conference, which takes place on 4 February at the NFU Conference Centre, Stoneleigh.

The BOA Technical Conference is the UK’s leading event dedicated to the future of ornamental horticulture. The annual gathering brings together experts, innovators and growers to explore the latest developments and emerging trends shaping the industry.

The Pot Plant Growers Award recognises Stuart’s outstanding contribution to pot-plant production over a lifelong career in horticulture. His passion and expertise have marked him as an exemplary grower.

Six awards were presented at the ceremony, highlighting both long‑standing contributions and new talent and underlining the sector’s commitment to excellence and innovation. The evening also provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with industry colleagues and set a positive tone ahead of conference sessions on protecting and advancing ornamental businesses.

Congratulations to all the winners and the BOA for their work in shaping the future of the UK ornamentals sector.
