Newey Ltd in collaboration with M&S handed over 2,400poinsettias to FareShare yesterday for redistribution to charities and care organisations across the UK’s South region, bringing colour and festive joy to homes and community spaces this Christmas.
Jon Weymouth, Head of Operations at Newey, personally handed the delivery to Damian Wood of FareShare, marking a partnership that reflects Newey’s commitment to brightening people’s lives, with the support of M&S, at a time of year when a small gift can make a big difference.
“Festive favourites like poinsettias add a pop of colour and joy to any space,” said Jon Weymouth. “In conjunction with M&S, we wanted to share that with charity organisations to ensure everyone has something to bring festive cheer this season.”
Newey Ltd is a leading supplier of ornamental plants and trees to high street retailers, DIY chains and garden centres. The company invests in the future of UK horticulture with a focus on innovation, sustainability and long-term growth. Newey is part of the greosn group, investors in leading brands globally across fresh produce and horticulture delivering innovation, sustainability and security. The group already works with FareShare, the UK’s leading food redistribution charity, across its portfolio through the provision of surplus fruit. This poinsettia donation builds on that relationship at a horticultural level and aligns with the ESG values adopted across the business.
Emma White, Commercial Manager at FareShare said: “We are grateful to Newey and M&S for donating these poinsettias via our network to bring festive cheer to community groups and charities across the UK. FareShare redistributes good to eat surplus food to over 8,000charities and community groups nationwide. These groups help bring people together through food, especially during the winter months, and the beautiful poinsettias bring added seasonal warmth and colour.”
