Mansfields Celebrates Success at 2026 National Cherry & Soft Fruit Show

Norton Cherries and P&J Soft Fruits, part of Mansfields and the greosn group, are celebrating an outstanding performance at the 2026 National Cherry & Soft Fruit Show, securing multiple awards across both cherry and strawberry categories, alongside three prestigious additional trophies.

Held annually, the National Cherry & Soft Fruit Show showcases some of the finest fruit grown across the UK, recognising excellence in quality, flavour, presentation and market appeal.

Leading the success in the strawberry classes, P&J Soft Fruits secured:

  • 1st Place - Strawberries, Different Varieties
  • 1st Place - Tastiest Strawberry (Eves Joy)
  • 1st Place - UK-Bred Strawberry Variety (Eves Joy)
  • 1st Place - Market Pack Strawberries (Eves Joy)
  • 2nd Place - Market Pack Strawberries (Florice)

Norton Cherries also achieved strong results across the cherry categories, receiving:

  • 1st Place - Sweetheart Cherries
  • 1st Place - Market Pack Cherries (Regina)
  • 2nd Place - Karina Cherries
  • 2nd Place - Regina Cherries
  • 2nd Place - Supermarket Pack, Best Cherry (Regina)

Further recognition came in the form of three special awards and trophies:

  • Fruiterers' Company Medal for Most Meritorious Exhibit - Soft Fruit
  • Edmonds Memorial Bowl for Tastiest Strawberry
  • T G Redsell Challenge Cup for Best Market Exhibit - Cherries

Commenting on this year's show, organisers said:

“Despite being an early and challenging year, there was a very good display across all fruit classes. The quality and variety on display were a clear reflection of the hard work and attention given to every entry.”
